June 8 (Reuters) - Motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson (HOG.N) has temporarily halted production at its York, Pennsylvania, assembly plant for the second time in just over 12 months due to a parts shortage, the company said.

Production at the facility, its largest with nearly 1,000 union employees, will resume on June 13, it noted in an emailed statement.

Harley-Davidson did not specify the parts involved.

Production was halted in May 2022 due to a brake hose problem from a third-party supplier, the company said later.

Harley-Davidson in April reported better-than-expected first-quarter results even as retail sales in North America fell.

Sales from motorcycles and related products grew 21% to $1.56 billion in its most recent quarter, driven by a rise in wholesale shipments and continued price increases.

WTF, better quarter because of price increases? Why don't we just go ahead and price ourselves out of the market. Top selling bikes are to expensive for the average Joe, inflation is taking it's toll.

This shutdown comes as Harley Davidson rolls out it line of 2023 CVO's with expensive ad campaigns. It's the second shutdown for this plant over the last 12 months.

One has to wonder if it's really parts shortages or something else like stupid crap like going woke, what the hell's going on?

There's more, Harley-Davidson's CEO Jochen Zeitz is officially handing over his duties as LiveWire's Interim Chief Executive to a fresh face, further loosening the American bike brand's hold on their electric brainchild.

Jochen sees the writing on the wall for the live wire so he steps down and find a fall guy Karmin Donnez from BRP.

Why in the hell would you want to leave that gig and sign onto a dying product like the live wire. The problems are mounting as buyers remorse sets in and customers can't get rid of them, not even to Harley Davidson.

There is a reason very few dealer ships display them, can you say fire hazards. it's reported they have to have special storage areas for the soon to be dead wire.

What really needs to happen is a stockholders revolt to get rid of Jochen and those like him within the ranks of HD.

Sick shit going on in our book..
